Rori Peters serves as Senior Vice President of Content Distribution and Marketing for TV One Networks. In her current role, Peters is responsible for developing strategy and negotiating the carriage of the networks and its programming across all video platforms, including domestic and international content licensing. She has successfully negotiated deals with all major distributors resulting in expanded reach of TV One and CLEO TV. Additionally, Peters has leadership oversight of the Content Distribution and Marketing team and is a key member of the Networks’ executive leadership.
Peters has an extensive background in cable network strategy and development. Prior to joining TV One in 2012, she was instrumental in the rebrand of Romance Classics to WE tv, held senior positions at Comedy Central, Court TV (truTV), Sí TV (Fuse), Travel Channel, and lead the creation of the El Rey launch business plan.
Prior to her cable network career, Peters had a successful domestic and international banking career, including merger and acquisition financing for major broadcast, radio, and cable companies.
Peters served as Chair of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) in 2002-2003 and was instrumental in the implementation of the PAR Initiative, a comprehensive advocacy program helping companies improve diversity metrics for women with respect to Pay Equity, Advancement Opportunities, and Resources for Work/Life Integration. She is also a member of National Association of Minorities in Communications (NAMIC) and serves on the board of the California Broadband & Video Association.
Peters received her B.S. in Economics from Florida A & M University and is also a WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Fellow. She currently resides in Bethesda, MD.
