Julie Rapaport is head of movies at Amazon Studios. In her role, she leads the studio’s division focused on producing and acquiring a wide variety of high-quality, culturally relevant films for Prime Video’s global audience.
She and the original movies team recently released and celebrated the critical and commercial success of films, such as the Oscar-nominated Lucille Ball biopic Being the Ricardos, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, George Clooney’s coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar, the Chris Pratt-led action feature The Tomorrow War, and Coming 2 America starring Eddie Murphy.
Prior to joining Amazon Studios in 2015, Rapaport worked at The Weinstein Company, where she rose to senior vice president of production and development and oversaw the production of numerous films, including: Lion, Burnt, Silver Linings Playbook, August: Osage County, The Giver, and Big Eyes. She began her career at the William Morris Agency in the agent trainee program.
