Veteran television executive Katherine Pope serves as senior vice president and head of original content for Charter Communications, Inc. Joining Charter in January 2018, she oversees the creation and launch of all original programming, which airs first on Spectrum platforms. To date she has launched two seasons of the Sony Pictures Television produced series L.A.’s Finest, starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba; Manhunt: Deadly Games, the intense anthology series chronicling one of the largest manhunts on U.S. soil; the popular limited series revival, Mad About You, which reunited Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt; Paradise Lost, a Southern gothic mystery series starring Josh Hartnett; two seasons of Side Games (To do por el Juego); and the high-octane street racing series, Curfew. Spectrum also has original content partnerships with AMC, Lionsgate and Viacom.
Executive producer for several Emmy® and Golden Globe®-nominated shows, Pope segued to Charter from Studio 8, where as head of TV she helped launch and operate its independent television division. She previously served as president of television at Chernin Entertainment and oversaw all creative development and production for the Twentieth Century Fox-based production company.
Earlier in her career Pope spent 10 years at NBC/NBC Universal Television Studios, serving in a number of leadership roles including executive vice president of the network and president of the studio, where she helped develop the hit shows Heroes, Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock and The Office. She began her career in network news at CBS and ABC News, producing documentaries and specials.
A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, Katherine Pope is a longtime board member of Girls Inc. and a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Television Academy.
