In her current role, LaKendra leads a team of customer experience professionals in delivering $30M in gross revenue for Cox Business nationally. Her focus on best in class execution is underscored by a commitment to diversity, employee engagement and talent development.
Before joining Cox Business in 2021, LaKendra held several leadership roles with AT&T including AVP Public Sector Sales, AVP Sales Transformation, Director Mobility Call Center, Director Customer Experience, Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice President of Digital Life, and Associate Director of Business Sales Leadership Development Program. A seller at heart - she spent the first decade of her career selling to enterprise clients, most notably Accenture LLP – a Global Fortune 500 company – yielding annual gross revenue in excess of $60M.
An interest in Diversity & Inclusion, coupled with what she believed to be a gap in support and engagement of millennial employees led LaKendra to create oxyGEN, an Employee Resource Group.
This 501c3 organization seeks to Attract, Develop and Retain future leaders in business.
Access to education is one of her passions, she is past chair of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Giving Campaign. She mentors future leaders across the country both 1:1 and through formal mentoring circles and has been recognized as a Champion of Diversity. She currently serves the Cox Communications National Diversity & Inclusion Council.
LaKendra has been recognized as a Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Award Winner by both the Obama and Trump Administrations in honor of the volunteer work she does in the community. Additionally, her work in technology and communications earned her recognition as a BEYA Modern Day Technology Leader.
Born in Houston, TX and raised in Tallahassee, FL, LaKendra holds a B.S. in Business and an M.B.A. – both from Florida State University (Go ‘Noles!). Her professional journey has taken her to New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles and most recently Irvine/Newport Beach. She enjoys working out, cooking for friends, traveling and shoe shopping.
